It is not the job of the property owner where your dog poops, nor is it the job of the city to clean up your dog's poop. It's YOUR job -- and it's the law. Seriously. |
Be aware of the Animal Control Ordinance that governs pet waste clean up – “…waste left by a dog on any property other than the owner’s must be cleaned up by the pet owner." If you violate the law, you could be subject to prosecution.

Sidewalks, drive pads, and curb ramps are to be kept clean from rocks and other obstructions and kept in good repair by residents/owners. Lot owners are also responsible for trimming shrubbery, trees, and other vegetation on their property so that free passage along sidewalks and streets will not be impeded. Sidewalks are to remain passable and free of obstruction for safety of pedestrians.

Adequate vertical clearance below tree branches is to be maintained for passage of pedestrians, cars, and bicyclists. The minimum height of the lowest branch overhanging a sidewalk is seven feet; the lowest height overhanging a street is 14 feet.

All motor vehicles parked in a residential zone must be operative. Inoperative vehicles may only be parked inside a building, including a carport. Vehicles covered by tarps or stored in the rear yard must still be in operating condition. Major automotive repair, even of personal vehicles, may not be conducted outdoors.

Recreational vehicle, boat, or boat-and-boat-trailer parking is allowed as follows:
1. Inside parking 2. Outside parking in the side yard or the rear yard, provided no part of the unit extends over the public sidewalk 3. Outside parking in the front yard, provided the unit is parked perpendicular to the front curb, the body of the recreational vehicle or boat is at least 11 feet from the face of the curb, and no part of the unit extends over the public sidewalk.
Trailer parking: Outside parking in the side yard or the rear yard of cargo trailers of less than 2,500 pounds carrying capacity.

WEEDS AND DEBRIS
Any growth of weeds to a height greater than four inches, or any accumulation of weeds and/or debris, is prohibited on occupied and unoccupied land within the city. This includes, but is not limited to, the area located between the property line and the curb, and the area of any curbs or sidewalks located adjacent to the property.

GARAGE SALES
Garage or yard sales are allowed once every twelve months at a given dwelling. The sale may not exceed three consecutive days, and only normally accumulated household goods may be sold. Advertising signs may not be placed on medians or other city property, and may be displayed for the three-day period only.
